Volvo 240 Camber Spacer Instructions

Required tools:
  • 10mm internal hex ("Allen") socket
  • 19mm socket
  • Torque wrench
  • Blue Loctite
  • Jack and jack stands or lift

Installation:

  1. Get the car in the air. Be sure the car is securely supported. Never get under a car supported only by a jack; use either jack stands or a lift. Remove the front wheels.
  2. Unbolt ball joints from lower control arms. From the factory, these are the 3 M12 bolts (19mm head) with lock nut on the bottom.
  3. Using 3 of the yellow hex head bolts with a washer on each, bolt the adapter to the control arm. Apply blue Loctite to the bolt threads before installing. Get all 3 bolts started before tightening fully. Torque to 108 N-m / 80 lb-ft.
  4. (optional) Now is a great time to replace your ball joints if they're looking tired.
  5. Using the blue socket cap bolts and a washer on each, bolt the ball joint to the bottom of the adapter. Again, apply blue Loctite, start all 3 bolts started before tightening fully, and torque to 108 N-m / 80 lb-ft.
